Today marks 99 days until my World Race journey begins!
Let’s celebrate the double digits!!!
October 2nd is the start date!

Well…

maybe.

With COVID-19 my squad has wrestled with many Maybe statements.

Maybe the borders will open. Or maybe we will have drastic route changes.

Maybe we will have to stay in quarantine for 14 days upon entry to a new country (imagining how that would work with relational ministering, we could do lots of distance manual labor and harvest / field support!).

Maybe our departure will be postponed until January.

Maybe we will travel and serve in the states rather than internationally.

Maybe I will not get to travel with or meet these new World Race friends who are already so dear to my heart.

At the end of May we received this notice: As of now, we have no changes or updates to announce regarding your trip. We will continue to update you as we keep a pulse on the spread of COVID-19 and how it may affect your trip. By August 1st, you can expect to hear from us to either confirm your launch dates, or we will communicate new launch dates and an updated plan.”

Recent emails continue to express their hopeful uncertainty. That is fine! More information will be coming by August 1st!

God has been revealing areas of my life I have held onto anxiety or uncertainty instead of turning them to the Lord. This week the World Race questions have been a great practice of transforming my maybe wonderings into may it be prayers.

Jesus,

May your kingdom come and your will be done in my life.

May you go before us and prepare the way wherever we go.

May you give us eyes to see beyond our present circumstances and the unknowns.

May we know that our confidence can only be built on you.

May this trip be in your timing and for your glory.

May your promises be fulfilled in my life, even in ways I wouldn’t ask, expect, or imagine.

I will continue to celebrate God’s goodness. And 99 Days!

Abba, thank you for helping me transform my maybe’s and wonderings into May it be. I surrender my desires and hopes for the World Race to you again. Please continue guiding the World Race staff in discerning how to steward and protect missionaries and international partners. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for giving my squad peace and renewed focus that your call to speak life, love, and redemption is timeless and not constrained by any border. I give you Lordship of my life and will continue to trust in you. Please bring healing to people with COVID-19. May the path to healing and restoration be revealed. In Jesus’ name, amen!
