My name is Rachel Preston. I am 26 years old!
What is the World Race?
The World Race is a ministry and discipleship program through Adventures in Missions. The hashtag is #11n11. There are many fun Instagram, FB, and Youtube stories! The program is set up to send 30-50 people ages 21-30 to 11 different countries in 11 months. Each squad (30-50 people) enters the country then divides into teams of 6-8 people to work with established partners by providing humanitarian aid and sharing the love of Jesus! I left January 2021 and will return to Washington state in November 2021.
My days may be filled with teaching English, praying and preaching, visiting refugees and helping them find resources, helping plant churches, assisting in natural disaster relief, and supporting local groups however needed!
World Race Update: I was to leave June 2019 but deferred because my grandma received an extreme cancer diagnosis. Then I was in a car accident and needed to give intentional time for my body to heal. Finally with COVID we were wondering if the World Race would still be happening. God is faithful! His timing is always so, so good. People need help and hope now more then ever.
Church
New Life Foursquare Church in Everett is my home church! I have been part of many women’s groups, teach in the first grade Kid’s Trek Sunday School class, and am active with the Young Adult Group. My community is very intergenerational. They are my larger extended family of sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, parents, and grandparents!!! http://newlifeeverett.org/
Prayer: Please pray for the countries I will be traveling to: Guatemala, Costa Rica then hopefully Kazakhstan, India, Thailand, and Cambodia.
— Please pray for favor with the partners and people we will be serving. We are asking God for open hearts and doors with these communities.
— Pray for joyful relationships among team members. We will be living in close community and navigating many new experiences together!
— Please pray for myself. My heart is excited for this next journey! Please pray that I will continue to be attentive and quick to obey the Lord’s voice in all situations.

Fundraising Amount: $18,500 will cover all training, international travel, housing, ministry work, and basic food expenses. I also have $3,000 in personal expenses for the trip. These cover tent and travel supplies, shampoo and personal hygiene items while on the field, extra food for my allergies to eggs/dairy, team excursions, and two flights I personally book, one to get to Georgia and one to return home.

Card: Card payments can be easily and securely accepted online. There is no extra fee for using this method.
