I wrote this prayer a couple weeks ago and wanted to share it with you. Let’s continue to join together in prayer!

“How long, Lord, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.”
Habakkuk 1:2-3

Habakkuk cried out to the Lord in anguish. God heard and responded.
God hears our honest prayers of wondering and crying out. Right now there are more questions than answers. But I know God’s heart breaks for injustice and violence.

Racism has been ongoing. We read about it even in scripture of Jews against the Samaritans, against the Gentiles, against the Romans.

But Jesus stepped into the conflict. He spoke to the Samaritan woman, he healed the Gentile woman’s son, he praised the faith of the Roman centurion.

Lord, please,
Let justice roll.
Let forgiveness flourish.
Reveal your truth.
Break my heart.
Protect our police officers and community members.
Awaken your Church to pray and stand for peace like never before.

I will check in and pray with people who are even more directly involved in this situation: family and friends who live down the street from riots, police and national guard members, friends who have experienced and continue to experience racism I haven’t known.
I will look for the good that is still coming through even in this time of distress.
I will ask God to continue revealing areas my heart has held onto prejudice and apathy.
I will pray and ask Holy Spirit for wisdom on how to speak and walk in truth.

Please let me know how I can be praying for you during this time.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement as I walk in this time of preparation!

    Love is Essential!??

1 Corinthians 13 1. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Amen!??

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
