Hello!

I returned from training camp late last night 🙂 It was a challenging and wonderful time to meet, gather, and prepare with my squad for our 11 months! More updates will be coming!

One key thought in the World Race world is ATL. ATL stands for Ask The Lord. This is a process of listening prayer we will be using while traveling, especially if we do not have a specific ministry partner for the day or month.

Who should we connect with?
Where should we stay?
What would the Lord have us say that would be life giving for the person, even if we just met them?

One of our training camp speakers encouraged us to begin practicing ATL every day!

I’m up for the challenge! I desire greater intimacy with God and flexibility in being led by the Holy Spirit. So I prayed on the way to the airport in Georgia…

“Abba, who do you want me to show your love to? Holy Spirit please open my eyes to those around me.”

{Waiting at the airport. Training camp was wonderfully exhausting!}

Lindsey, a gal in her mid-twenties, was headed to her first flight. I had been visiting with other Racers, ate a Whopper, then headed to the TSA line. As I got in line, Lindsey stepped into line behind me. I noticed her looking around nervously and we began making small talk behind our masks. The glass barricades reminded us of a corn maze and an odd fun house with the silly mirrors.

After walking a bit she asked, “Is this the line for security? I don’t want to miss my plane.”

Lindsey’s dad has flown before and talked her through the airport basics, but it can be challenging navigating an airport solo! She had a cross bracelet and I asked if I could pray for peace as we went through security.

Then I offered to walk with her to her gate. And our adventure began!

Making it through security, taking the train, reading the airport signs, checking the monitors, buying items from the gift shop, chatting about the boarding process… Lindsey’s confidence in traveling grew! We had fun exploring the airport, talking, praying, and finding her flight together!

ATL helped me to
step into God’s timing.
spark my eyes and heart to notice someone.
be available and willing to help.
encourage a sister in Christ.
make a new friend.

I’m excited to continue listening and responding to God in daily life!

  1. I Love the ATL (Atlanta) hat. “Ask the Lord” God definitely has a sense of humor too!

  2. How cool is this blog!
Lord, let me practice high interruptibility for those God moments and divine appointments you want to providentially Lead me into! Just like Rachel !

2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
