Hello!

Guatemala is so beautiful!

I was reminded of three truths last week!
1. God is my healer.
2. The Lord provides what I need, often even before I need it!
3. Community on earth is a sweet taste of community in heaven.

The video shows a day full of celebrations with my team!

Paula, a sweet teammate, turned 21! Paula has the light of the Lord and shines brightly. She has intention in everything she does, a deep well of compassion for others, and a passion to live fully in her identity as a daughter of the King of Kings. Our team cares well for each other and chooses TO LOVE daily. We are learning to live / dance together and forgive quickly when we step on each other’s toes, sometimes literally. Our joy and delight for each other is visible throughout the video.

I returned to ministry with CASA Guatemala! I had been sick with a fever and in isolation away from my team for three days. With COVID, AIM/World Race is taking great precautions to not spread any flu, stomach bug, or COVID. For three days I was the sickest I’ve been in several years. Receiving a negative COVID test and showing signs of health allowed me to come out of quarantine! Then a few days of continued rest renewed my strength to return to serving in the community. God was with me through the sickness and the loneliness. Holy Spirit is our greatest comforter! My team was so sweet caring for me while respecting the COVID precautions. YOUR prayers were also felt and powerful!

The doctor’s visit and COVID test cost nearly $100. A sweet sister in Christ sent me $100 for personal expenses that covered the insurance’s deductible! God provided even before I asked or knew I needed it!

Wags, Elizabeth Wagstaff, arrived in Guatemala! She was waiting for a negative COVID test to join us. Wag’s faith is INSPIRING! She received her key with the word WARRIOR! Elizabeth was the missing piece of our team and we are ecstatic she is with us. Thank you for your prayers!

Please pray for our ministry host, Pastor Alex, and his church plant, Casa Guatemala! We are praying for his health, the families in the communities to draw together, and growth in personal discipleship! Audio Bibles are coming to the community next week for those who cannot read to receive the Bible! 4. Hola Rachael,

I’m going to write this next part in English for your parents to understand though. I did not make you a video, but here I want to tell you how thankful I am for you. You were always the perfect Spanish student, so excited to learn Spanish for your missionary trips and any encounters with Spanish speakers, always eager to help others, and desiring to be challenged to learn & grow more. These are just a few of your many qualities. It’s obvious to see your passion for God and for people!

I know I told you before, but I want to remind you that you were the one who inspired me to buy my bilingual Bible. I use it all the time. It’s my main Bible. I remember you told me about yours, after class one day, to use to learn and practice Spanish as you spent time in God’s Word. I remember thinking, What a brilliant idea!

I am so happy you are finally on your World Race and I know this is God’s perfect timing for your team, obviously. I will be lifting you and your team in prayer and checking in to get updates and to write to you.
