Jesus is our Emmanuel. Our God loved us so much that He came to be with us! Jesus’ ministry was pouring into the disciples, sharing stories and parables, and being with the crowds day after day. Holy Spirit continues to give us the strength and desire to love people every day.

Most of our days include visiting people in their homes, sitting with them, and often having our hearts break and crying with them. We hear their testimonies full of the faithfulness of God amidst their struggles. Or we present the gospel and sometimes pray with new brothers and sisters in Christ!

We share songs. Stories from our lives. Scriptures to point to God’s encouraging truth. Prayers for and with these beautiful Kingdom building brothers and sisters in Christ.

Jesus is our Comforter for women who lost infants or spouses.
Jesus is our Healer for those struggling with cancer, diabetes, illnesses, or accidents.
Jesus is our Redeemer for people struggling with alcoholism or personal choices that tear families apart.
Jesus is our Giver of Worth and Purpose. We have the opportunities to remind women of God’s truth and speak purpose into their lives.

Our ministry host, CASA Guatemala, is focused on community. Discipleship is relationship. We have had the opportunity to get to know and love so many people. We receive as much encouragement and faith strengthening as we give!

Who are you with in relational community? How is your presence and intentionality blessing others in your life?

Beauty for Ashes is the women’s ministry element of the World Race. On our team, Elizabeth and I are the stewards of this ministry as we travel.

Late last night, we received the “YES!” to host two women’s Beauty for Ashes events this week in Guatemala! This will be a sweet time sharing Bible stories, personal testimonies, teachings on God’s truth, drawing activities, and a time to pamper and honor these women. Topics include View of God, Forgiveness, and Worth!

1. Please join us in prayer over this time of preparation and during the events!
Our Beauty for Ashes events will be on Thursday, February 11th and Thursday, February 18th. The time on both days is 1:30 Pacific {2:30 Mountain, 3:30 Central, 4:30 Eastern}

2. {ALL GLORY TO GOD! We are fully funded for these events. We will have future BFA events and opportunities to sponsor women. Our God provides!} Please pray about sponsoring a woman to attend this event! Nearly 30 women are excited to join us! We have space for 30 hearts and we are believing God will fill every seat at the tables. $10 gives one woman this special experience.

The easiest way to sponsor a woman for $10 is through Paypal or Venmo. Thank you for your generosity and blessing these women in Mixco, Guatemala!

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:1-3

  3. Thank you for sharing! How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the Good News, the Gospel of Peace. God’s work in you and through you pouring His love over those He is placing in your paths is a beautiful testimony of His Glory! You are in my prayers. Estás en mis oraciones.

  4. Rachel,
    I’m moved & humbled by all you and the team are doing in an unfamiliar & uncomfortable place. I pray your influence, like ripples in a pond, sends God’s love, power & truth throughout Guatamala. Esther & the Lamb boys are progressing pretty well, I think; we’ll see at the next recital. Esther sang a solo at her church last Sunday, did a beautiful job.
    In Christ, Gwen
